SO-52v11-eMTZR, SO-54SR-141/4xx/5xx — digital MV protection with bay controller functions

Description
The SO-52v11-eMTZR combines measurement, protection, control, telemechanics, automation and a multichannel disturbance recorder, and provides complete servicing of the circuit breaker. It detects short-circuit currents, clears faults by operating the breaker and recloses the line with auto-reclosing (AR). The reaction time to a short circuit is 14–18 ms. The controller directly operates the apparatus of a typical bay, that is the breaker and three disconnectors, and the interlocking equations are defined in the logic module. The protection functions include earth-fault current protection, directional and admittance. Four setting banks simplify the operation of industrial switchgear, the event log helps establish the causes of trips, and recorder data go to the analysis of disturbance events in the network.
The design is modular. The MPA measurement and communication module measures currents and voltages, maintains communication with external devices and has 4 fast high-power relay outputs for direct control of breaker coils. The MWS module records events and counts pulses (up to 32 inputs for 220, 110 or 24 V DC), and the MSS-2xx module has 12 fully isolated relay outputs for an operating voltage of up to 220 V DC. The set also includes the MZA power supply unit and the KWG terminal with a large graphic display, a touch panel, a local/remote control switch and LED signaling. Communication runs over optical Ethernet FX100, RS-485 or serial optical channels, including under PN-EN 61850.
The SO-54SR-141 field controller with protection functions is installed on an indoor circuit breaker. It clears disturbances in the MV network caused by single-phase and multi-phase faults, operates the breaker remotely from SCADA or locally with buttons and a touch LCD screen, and performs telemechanics, signal concentration and software interlocking against conflicting commands. Protection settings are changed from the panel or with a dedicated program. The controller is mounted in the breaker control cabinet together with the MSG-61x GPRS/UMTS-APN module, a 24 V DC battery with a charger, a heater with a thermostat, buttons, mode switches (AR, live-line work) and terminals.
The controller communicates with SCADA over GPRS/UMTS-APN, TETRA, CDMA2000 or DMR radio channels, or over dedicated lines. The SO-54SR series also covers versions -301, -321, -351, -401, -421, -424, -501, -521 and -524 for disconnectors and breakers of overhead lines and MV points, which are described in separate entries. For example, the SO-54SR-321-WL works in networks with compensated, resistor-earthed or isolated neutral and has cybersecurity mechanisms under PN-EN 62351.
