PCS-9000 EMS / DMS software suites for power system and distribution network control
The PCS-9000 combines a software platform for control centers, on which the energy management system (EMS) for transmission networks and the distribution management system (DMS) are built. Both run in a single application environment under IEC 61970 and IEC 61968 (CIM model), so integration with other systems is simpler and earlier investments are preserved. The EMS has been implemented in several hundred projects in China and abroad.

Description
The PCS-9000 EMS works as a dedicated real-time system. It helps dispatchers to monitor, control and optimize the operation of the power system in terms of power quality and economy of operating regimes. The basic SCADA subsystem performs data acquisition and processing, remote control and regulation, event recording, calculations and statistics, trends, fault analysis, alarm processing, topology coloring and delimitation of areas of responsibility. AGC controls generation, regulates frequency and tie-line flows, monitors reserves, schedules generation and exchanges and provides ultra-short-term load forecasting.
The PAS application package covers network modeling and topology, state estimation, dispatcher power flow calculation, short-term load forecasting, contingency analysis, short-circuit current calculation, OPF calculation and automatic voltage and reactive power control. Additionally provided are the dispatcher training simulator DTS, the transient monitoring system WAMS with low-frequency oscillation analysis, the operation management system OMIS and web access to single-line diagrams, alarms, trends and reports.
The PCS-9000 DMS is intended for distribution network control centers. Its SCADA monitors feeders, circuit breakers, RMU, distribution points and transformer substations, and a GIS serves as the display platform. SCADA data is the basis for all DMS applications. The network analysis module performs fault location, isolation and service restoration (FLISR), state estimation, power flow and short-circuit current calculation, voltage regulation, feeder reconfiguration and load forecasting. The outage management system OMS, processing of customer calls using AMR data, the simulator, the enterprise service bus ESB for connection to CIS, GIS and AMR, and feeder automation FA are assembled in the same suite. From call data, the trouble-ticket management system determines the causes and locations of outages and speeds up their handling.
The manufacturer builds the cybersecurity of the PCS-9000 with NERC CIP, ISO 27001 and IEEE 1686 in mind, with two-factor authentication, single sign-on (SSO) and role-based access, and the system itself has passed a security assessment. Work orders in the DMS are managed through configurable routes, and according to the manufacturer up to 90 % of daily operations can be automated. For customers the supplier carries out design, commissioning and support of the systems.
