IRV is a multifunction protection, control and measurement terminal for medium voltage bays on the V platform. It protects MV lines, transformers, generators and feeders with directional and non-directional overcurrent protection, voltage and frequency protections, a thermal model and auto-reclosing.

Description
The terminal is installed in MV switchgear cells as the main protection of an outgoing line or transformer. Directional overcurrent protection is needed in networks with several supply sources, while non-directional protection covers radial feeders. For generator bays there is reverse power protection and synchro-check before closing. The thermal model tracks overload of a cable or transformer from accumulated heating. Auto-reclosing recloses the line after transient faults on overhead lines.
