The EFD device selectively identifies the faulty feeder during single-phase earth faults in compensated medium-voltage networks. It operates with both high- and low-resistance faults and is supplied from 90–240 V AC/DC.

Description
The unit is mounted in a 19″ rack at the substation. A combined unit is also available, which combines arc suppression reactor control and faulty feeder detection. The device is installed in compensated MV networks where the feeder with a single-phase earth fault must be found quickly. Detection works with both high-resistance and low-resistance faults.
