Description

DZ9 is teleprotection equipment for transmitting relay protection commands over high voltage power lines. The device transmits up to 8 independent protection commands over various digital communication channels and up to 4 independent commands over an analog channel. Channel coding and adaptive command detection algorithms balance transmission time, security and dependability under the current channel conditions.

The equipment is modular and is configured to the requirements of the control system and the characteristics of the transmission medium. Two DZ9 systems can be installed in one rack. Multipoint command transmission and fast transit transmission are supported, which reduces the number of devices in schemes with T-branches. There is a redundant communication channel, a programmable matrix of command inputs and outputs, and channel identification to prevent switching errors in the communication network. GOOSE messages from one substation are output as relay commands at the remote substation, and the relay and GOOSE interfaces operate in parallel on one device.

Synchronization comes from an external GPS source (PPS, IRIG-B) or over SNTP. The device sends SNMP traps with alarm and service information to the communication network management system. The optional front panel has command counters and the main signals. Interfaces: digital and analog line interfaces, Ethernet for connecting protection devices, a GOOSE interface for up to 8 commands, relay command inputs and outputs, and management and monitoring over LAN/WAN or RS232.

The power supply is universal, 42–264 V DC and 82–264 V AC, with an optional hot-swappable redundant power supply module. Conformance to IEC 61850 Ed.1 for GOOSE commands is provided, and there are LVD, EMC and EAC certificates and certificates under IEC 60834-1. Application is teleprotection of 110–400 kV overhead lines, including schemes with T-branches and the Delta scheme, which gives minimum transmission time and a high level of redundancy.
