DLF / DLX line differential protection terminal
DLF and DLX provide longitudinal differential protection of overhead and cable lines with up to 3 ends, including lines with a transformer in the protected zone. DLF has backup distance protection, and DLX is a compact version for switchgear cells.

Description
Both terminals suit lines of any voltage class, overhead and underground. The protection compares the currents at the line ends and compensates the capacitive current, which matters for long cables. An external fault detector keeps the protection stable during through-fault currents, and fault location uses data from both ends. Tripping is single-phase or three-phase. DLX exchanges data over single-mode optical fibre and is built into switchgear cells.

Questions and answers
How many line ends do DLF / DLX protect?
Up to 3 ends, including a line with a transformer in the protected zone.
How does DLX differ from DLF?
DLX is a compact version for switchgear cells and works over single-mode optical fibre. DLF has backup distance protection.
Is the protection suitable for cable lines?
Yes, the terminals work on overhead and cable lines and compensate the capacitive current.
