ARGOS and ETRTU 3000 — distribution automation SCADA system and telecontrol
The ARGOS SCADA system and the ETRTU 3000 telecontrol device form the upper level of distribution network automation. The RTU handles up to 7000 DI/DO/AI points and works over DNP 3.0, IEC 60870, IEC 61850 and MODBUS. The set is used at substations, in metros and on railways.

Description
The company complements its switching apparatus with upper-level systems, the ARGOS SCADA system and the ETRTU 3000 telecontrol device. ARGOS was developed in-house as a distribution automation system with monitoring, control, alarm processing, recording and report generation functions. As an integrated monitoring and control system it performs remote control and protection within SCADA and suits various power facilities.
The protocols DNP 3.0, IEC 60870, IEC 61850 and MODBUS, common in the power industry, are supported, and communication goes through a modem, optical fibre, Ethernet or RS 422/485. Settings are changed easily, information is edited without stopping the system, and field devices are checked in real time on several monitors. Protocols can be changed, there is no restriction on the Windows version, and the operator environment is configurable. In 2014–2015 ARGOS was developed and deployed in the Seoul Metro system. The company has also carried out distribution automation system (DAS) projects worth USD 6 million.
The ETRTU 3000 is a telecontrol device (RTU) for substations, metros, railways and other facilities. It passes measurements, states and commands to SCADA over the same protocols DNP 3.0, IEC 60870, IEC 61850, MODBUS and the channels modem, optical fibre, Ethernet, RS422/485. A redundant configuration reduces the risk of losing communication, and capacity is up to 7000 DI/DO/AI points. The RTU remotely closes and opens breakers, including Korean-made ones, passes relay operation status, records the sequence of events (SOE) and executes close/open commands. It measures voltage, current, active and reactive power, frequency and power factor. Signals from the company's reclosers, LBS and RMU reach the dispatcher through the same RTU, without separate gateways.
A built-in simulator monitors system resources and tests functions. In it, databases are created, changed, archived and stored, and the system configuration and device history are managed, so commissioning can be done before field equipment is connected. Typical sites for ARGOS and the ETRTU 3000 are dispatch centres of distribution networks, traction substations of metros and railways, industrial power systems and networks with the company's reclosers, LBS and RMU.
