ADF directional fault detector for RMU and reclosers
ADF is a compact RTU with protection, automation and distributed generation control functions for RMUs and reclosers. The device determines the fault direction in networks with solidly earthed, isolated and compensated neutral and works with Rogowski coils and combined U-I sensors.

Description
Directional fault detection shows the dispatcher on which side of the installation point a short circuit or earth fault occurred. This matters for networks with a neutral compensated through a Petersen coil, where the fault current is small. Input signals come from Rogowski coils and from combined active and passive U-I sensors, which are installed in an RMU without bulky CTs and VTs. Exchange with other devices uses IEC 61850 GOOSE messages.
