SEL-487V provides protection, automation and control of MV and HV capacitor banks in any connection scheme. The terminal has 6 current inputs of 1 A / 5 A and 6 voltage inputs of 300 V. Its core protection is sensitive voltage differential protection and current unbalance protection.

Description
Grounded and ungrounded banks, single and double star configurations are supported. Voltage differential protection detects damage to individual bank elements. Settings are entered from templates for the application type, and the fault search logic speeds up maintenance. Synchrophasor measurements give the dispatcher a real-time view of the operating mode and allow remote bank control.
