SEL-487B — busbar differential protection and breaker failure protection
SEL-487B provides low-impedance busbar differential protection with a breaker failure protection function for high-voltage substations. The terminal accepts up to 21 current inputs of 1 A / 5 A, with an operating time under one cycle.

Description
Zones are configured dynamically, with a check zone, backup overcurrent protection and 0–300 V (ph-n) voltage inputs for tripping verification. Digital substations are supported via TiDL or Sampled Values per IEC 61850-9-2 / IEC 61869-9. Communication: IEC 61850 Ed.2.1, DNP3, PRP, PTPv2 and IEEE C37.118 synchrophasors.
