SEL-421 / SEL-311C / SEL-9L — distance protection for power lines
Distance and directional protection, automation and control terminals for power lines SEL-421, SEL-311C and SEL-9L, with up to 5 distance protection zones using mho and quadrilateral characteristics. Description
The SEL-421 has five zones and controls a two-breaker bay, the SEL-311C has four zones and four-shot autoreclosing, and the new SEL-9L is built on the 9 Series platform and powered from 48–250 V. Logic prevents zone overreach caused by capacitive VTs and covers lines with series compensation. Protocols are IEC 61850 Ed.2.1, DNP3, PRP, PTPv2 and IEEE C37.118 synchrophasors. TiDL or Sampled Values per IEC 61850-9-2 / IEC 61869-9 are optional.
