Description
The manufacturer, together with its subsidiary, produces dry-type air-core and iron-core reactors for distribution and trunk networks, capacitor installations and DC converter substations. It built the industry's first dry-type air-core arm reactor of ±800 kV for the Wudongde multi-terminal link, ±800 kV smoothing reactors for the West–East links and filter reactors for the Yazhong–Jiangxi ±800 kV link. It also has China's first installation of 110 kV series air-core reactors for direct load-side compensation.
Air-core reactors have linear inductance, high withstand to surge currents, a small skin effect and low eddy-current losses. They are protected from rain and birds, run quietly and are easy to install. Shunt reactors of 10–110 kV compensate reactive power and limit overvoltages. An example is the BKGKL-2×40000/110 with an inductance of 2×73.1 mH, a maximum voltage of 115 kV, insulation of LI 650 kV and losses up to 196 kW. The winding temperature rise is 55 K and that of the hottest spot, per the manufacturer, is up to 73 K. Such units are bought by grid companies, electrified railways, and metallurgical and petrochemical enterprises.
Current-limiting reactors of 10–110 kV and 220–750 kV are connected in series in a line to bring the short-circuit current down to an allowable level, for example the XKGKL-10-4000-10 of 0.46 mH. Series and damping reactors for capacitor banks of 10–110 kV (CKGKL-12/10-1, 18.33 mH) suppress amplification of higher harmonics and limit inrush currents on energisation. Neutral reactors of 35–66 kV limit the earth-fault current; the ZJKK-400/15 is designed for 66 kV and 15 Ohm with insulation of LI 325 kV. Filter reactors of 8–220 kV work in the filters of DC substations in series with capacitors (LKK-25-342-59.5, 59.5 mH, LI 550 kV).
For DC transmission, smoothing reactors of 20–800 kV are made, connected between the converter and the line. The PKGKL-800-5000-75 is rated ±800 kV, 5000 A, 75 mH, LI 1300 kV, with losses up to 300 kW. Arm reactors of 20–800 kV for voltage-source converter links, such as the QKGKL-800-1472-40 for ±800 kV and 40 mH with insulation of LI 1050 kV, together with the leakage inductance of the transformer form the interface between the converter and the grid and limit short-circuit currents.
Dry-type iron-core reactors for 10 kV are represented by the series CKSC-1200/10-12 (1200 kvar, 1.728 Ohm) and the shunt BKSC-10000/10 (10 Mvar, 10 Ohm). They are compact and light, with radial magnetic cores of reduced eddy-current losses, vacuum-cast windings, low partial discharge, noise of up to 59–60 dB(A) and vibration dampers.
