SGC-150 / SGC-250 — complete excitation controllers for synchronous generators
The SGC-150 is supplied as a ready-made panel with one or two DECS-150 excitation regulators. For generators with higher field current there are the SGC-250 and SGC-250N based on DECS-250 and DECS-250N. They are used when upgrading excitation on small hydropower plants, diesel and gas stations and industrial CHP plants.

Description
The SGC-150 is a synchronous generator controller in the form of a ready-made complete panel for installations with one or two DECS-150 digital excitation regulators. The system is pre-configured, so it is easy to adapt to different installations, including placement in existing or new cabinets. The DECS-150 capabilities provide precise control of generator voltage. The manufacturer designs, assembles and fully tests the SGC-150 itself. For generators with higher field current, similar SGC-250 and SGC-250N systems based on DECS-250 and DECS-250N are produced.
Programming is done in BESTCOMSPlus®, which is supplied with every device. The program has clear logic diagrams and allows custom logic algorithms to be built for specific requirements. The BESTlogic™Plus offline simulator allows the logic to be checked without equipment. The built-in auto-tuning function improves regulation quality and noticeably shortens generator commissioning time. The DECS-150 regulator also has fast data exchange, expandable inputs and outputs and programmable logic.
Structurally the system is supplied pre-assembled, which simplifies installation. Dual control power supply provides a redundant channel and prevents unintended tripping. Current transformer shorting terminals increase safety during work. Real-time monitoring and event recording help quickly analyze any event in the system. A system approach reduces design time for the whole installation.
The accessories range includes contact expansion modules CEM-2020, analog signal modules AEM-2020, inrush current reduction modules ICRM-7 and ICRM-15, and a CE filter kit for the SGC-150. A typical application is upgrading the excitation systems of generators at small hydropower plants, diesel and gas stations and industrial CHP plants. The manufacturer designs and manufactures excitation regulators, protection systems and controllers at plants in Highland, Illinois and Taylor, Texas.
Installation is limited to connection to the generator's power and measuring circuits. The panel arrives with wiring already done, so on site only the cables need to be connected, power supplied and the parameters set. The DECS-150 regulator supports data exchange with the plant control system, and the expandable inputs and outputs allow alarms or control to be added for the task of the facility.
