Power Unit is a compact low-noise medium-voltage station in a plug and play format for solar power plants and energy storage systems. It combines one or two water-cooled PCS converters, a transformer and protective equipment, and delivers up to 10 MVA in a 30-foot format enclosure.

Description
Power Unit comprises a medium-voltage switchgear, a power transformer and PCS converters on a common skid. The Single PCS version delivers up to 5057 kVA (at 1500 V DC and 40 °C), and the Dual PCS version up to 10 115 kVA. The PCS units are water-cooled. The station is designed for networks with a growing share of non-dispatchable generation.
The maximum DC voltage is 1500 V with readiness for the 2000 V standard, and the minimum is 463, 981 or 1037 V depending on the version. The DC current is 2 × 2450 A or 4900 A in the Single version and 4 × 2450 A or 2 × 4900 A in the Dual version, with up to 30 and up to 60 DC inputs respectively. The rated AC voltage is from 6.6 to 36 kV ±10 %, the frequency is 50/60 Hz ±6 %, and THDi is below 1 % at rated power. The maximum PCS efficiency is 98.7 %, and standby consumption is below 250 W. Grid forming and black start are supported. The power factor range at the source is given as from 0 (underexcited) to 0 (overexcited), which looks like an error, so confirm the value. Communication is via Modbus TCP/IP, optionally Profinet, and preparation for remote monitoring is provided.
The transformer has ONAN/KNAN cooling, with a choice of standard losses or Ecodesign 2 requirements, and Type C connectors. Protection comprises DC disconnectors and surge arresters, a medium-voltage circuit breaker, and surge arresters on the AC side and in the auxiliary circuits.
The dimensions of the Single version are 6058 × 2438 × 2896 mm with a weight of 20 t, and of the Dual version 9125 × 2438 × 2896 mm with 30 t. According to the datasheet notes, dimensions and weight depend on the configuration. The temperature range is -20…+40 °C, optionally -40 °C, and the notes state a 10 % power derating at 50 °C. The altitude is up to 1000 m without derating, and up to 4000 m with current and voltage derating. Corrosion protection is C4H, optionally C5H.
The station meets the requirements of CE, UKCA and UL and the standards EN IEC 60076, 62271-1/-100/-102/-200/-213, 62920, 62477-1 and 62443. The manufacturer's quality system is certified to ISO 9001:2015. Applications are grid energy storage, utility-scale solar plants, hybrid power plants and connection to 6.6–36 kV networks.
