VEMoDiAC / VEMoDiAC-HV — condition monitoring system for electric motors and drives
The VEMoDiAC condition monitoring system for electric motors and drive systems collects operating data and supports maintenance based on actual condition. For low-voltage motors there is the battery-free VEMoDiAC Sense module, for large drives VEMoDiAC-HV. According to the manufacturer's estimate, downtime is reduced by up to 70 %.

Description
VEMoDiAC is a system for condition monitoring, operating data collection and maintenance based on actual condition for electric motors and drive systems. It gives the operator information about the operation of the motor, the driven machine, the process and the plant as a whole. This applies both to the millions of direct-on-line motors that run today without any monitoring and to large drives with sensors, where the data is not analyzed from the standpoint of process optimization.
VEMoDiAC Sense is intended for standard low-voltage motors. It is a compact measuring module that is mounted directly on the motor terminal box. It needs no battery. The module measures electrical quantities, temperatures and vibration with high accuracy and transmits the data over a wireless channel to a local server or a cloud system. The data can be stored, exported, visualized and analyzed. Configurable alarm thresholds give notification by e-mail. The system helps to keep a register of the motor fleet and makes the motors accessible to the Internet of Things.
VEMoDiAC-HV is intended for large electric drives that control critical processes. Such drives usually already have sensors, but the triggering of a warning setpoint or a trip often already means a failure and costly downtime. VEMoDiAC-HV analyzes the data and detects weak points of the drive train before failure. It shows whether the overhaul interval can be extended and identifies underload or overload and critical operating points.
Advanced interfaces make it possible to integrate the system into the process control system and to transmit data in real time over a bus. The manufacturer's engineers help with the optimization of processes and plants. According to the manufacturer's estimate, the use of VEMoDiAC reduces downtime by up to 70 %, extends drive service life by up to 30 % and lowers energy consumption by up to 10 %. An e-mail notification arrives when a measured quantity goes beyond a set limit. For motors that have so far run without monitoring, this is the first step toward condition-based maintenance instead of scheduled or emergency maintenance. The system is aimed, among others, at small and medium enterprises moving to the Industry 4.0 concept. It is suitable for pump stations, power generation and heavy industry.
