TTM ConnectGrid — three-phase wireless monitor for distribution transformers up to 69 kV
TTM is a three-phase monitor for distribution transformers up to 69 kV, part of the ConnectGrid platform for monitoring the edge of the distribution network. The device is powered from the measured voltage, profiles voltage and load, and transmits data over built-in secure cellular communication. Separate cabinets with gateways on poles and a dedicated data network are not required.

Description
The TTM is available in two versions and is supplied as a kit with voltage cables and Rogowski coils, pre-connected and ready to install. The kiosk version (IP44) is compact and mounts inside an enclosure, for example in a transformer cabinet at a site or in a cable pit. The pole version has a weatherproof IP67 (NEMA-4) housing and a bracket for external mounting, for example on a pole-mounted transformer. Dimensions of the indoor version are 186 × 251 × 68 mm, of the pole device 220 × 298 × 87 mm, and with the bracket assembled 220 × 575 × 102 mm. Installation is simple, so monitors can be deployed at a large number of network edge sites.
The monitor measures the voltage of three phases, the current of three phases and neutral, active and reactive power, power factor and harmonics (THD), and determines power quality indices per IEC 61000-4-30 class S. It records sags and swells, overcurrents and other events with precise time stamps. The voltage input is 24–250 V between phase and neutral, and current is measured by Rogowski coils up to 100 kA or through a 2.5 A CT input. There is a transformer temperature input and two digital inputs for a cabinet door sensor or flooding detection.
The default sampling rate is 128 samples per cycle. Measurement and transmission periods are configurable, by default 5 minutes each, and events are sent immediately. Communication works over LTE Cat M1 or NB-IoT, that is, energy-saving LPWAN technologies with greater range and lower costs than traditional communication channels, which are gradually being phased out. A supercapacitor keeps the device running for up to 5 minutes after the voltage disappears, and in that time the monitor can alert the dispatcher about the fault. Operating temperature from −20 to 80 °C.
TTM data helps to prevent transformer overloading, schedule maintenance by condition, dispatch crews faster during outages, detect broken conductors by loss of voltage, estimate the fault location from GPS time stamps, see reverse flows from solar power plants and EV charging stations, and reveal unaccounted generation. The ConnectGrid platform integrates with SCADA via DNP3 and with DERMS and ADMS systems, supports remote firmware updates and offers a mobile app with Bluetooth for on-site configuration.

Questions and answers
Which transformers is the TTM intended for?
For three-phase distribution transformers up to 69 kV. The IP44 kiosk version is installed in transformer cabinets and cable pits, and the IP67 pole version is mounted on pole-mounted transformers.
How does the TTM transmit data?
Over built-in cellular LTE Cat M1 or NB-IoT, without separate gateways on poles. The default transmission period is 5 minutes, events are sent immediately, and SCADA integration is via DNP3.
What voltage and current ranges does the TTM measure?
A voltage input of 24–250 V between phase and neutral, which also powers the monitor. Current is measured by Rogowski coils up to 100 kA or through a 2.5 A CT input.
