Description
Primus 400 is a compact-class gas volume corrector for small metering points. It measures flow, converts the measured volume to standard conditions using pressure, temperature and the compressibility factor, and stores the data in its logging memory. The device is intended for the natural gas market and industrial use, and data is read out over standard protocols. The corrector is MID-approved as a PTZ corrector and as a temperature corrector under EN 12405-1. It holds PTB approval as a maximum load indicator and recorder and an ATEX certificate for hazardous zones 0, 1 and 2.
The corrector is fully modular and is installed standalone or directly on a gas meter. A built-in modular GSM/GPRS/LTE Cat1 modem is provided for remote readout. The housing, made of glass-fibre-reinforced polycarbonate, measures 263×201×111 mm, weighs 2.2 kg and has IP66 protection, with an ambient temperature of −25 to +70 °C. A backlit 128×64 dot graphic LCD shows the configuration, archive records, measured and calculated values and event messages. The menu is operated with six buttons, and parameters can also be changed from the keypad.
Temperature is measured with Pt1000 resistance thermometers, up to three per device. Pressure is measured with sensors with an ERMETO M12×1.5 connection, also up to three; they are fitted in the housing or moved out on a 2.5 m cable, and the total cable length can reach 100 m. The pressure sensor ranges are 0.8–5.2, 2–10, 4–20, 7–35, 14–70 and 25–130 bar. There are eight digital inputs (two HF/encoder and six LF/binary) and up to six analog inputs, with up to four digital and up to four analog outputs; NAMUR and SCR+ encoders are supported. The optical port runs at 9.6–38.4 kbit/s, and the two RS-232/RS-485 ports at up to 57.6 kbit/s. The compressibility factor is calculated by AGA NX-19 mod, AGA8-G1, AGA8-G2, SGERG-88 or AGA8-92DC, or set as a fixed value.
Basic power comes from a lithium battery with a service life of up to 15 years, and a separate battery module is provided for the modem. External 230 or 24 V power is used in zone 2, while in zones 0 and 1 the device is powered at 12 V through the PS-E module. A Windows program is supplied for parameterization and visualization, used locally and in the control centre. Remote readout is handled by WICO 22 software, and drivers exist for several SCADA systems. The manufacturer lists Primus 400 as a replacement for the discontinued EC 911–EC 922 correctors.
