Description
KSTAR DTSU666 is a three-phase electrical energy meter for DIN-rail mounting. In a solar power plant or storage system it is installed at the grid connection point, measures the exchange with the grid and passes the results through the RS-485 interface to an inverter or controller. The enclosure measures 72 mm × 100 mm × 65.5 mm (tolerance ±1). Current transformers are installed in the panel on each phase, and the meter receives a signal of 100 mA or 40 mA from them.
The KSTAR meter records active energy in the forward and reverse directions and also measures voltage, current, frequency, power and power factor. The results are shown on an LCD, and operation is by buttons. Active power is updated about every 50 ms, which is useful for grid export limiting and zero-export functions. Bidirectional metering makes it possible to see consumption from the grid and feed-in to the grid separately.
The KSTAR meter is connected to a 3P4W network with a rated voltage from 3 × 220/380 V to 3 × 240/415 V and a frequency of 50/60 Hz. The current input accepts a signal of 100 mA or 40 mA, so the meter works with secondary-circuit current transformers. The measurement accuracy for voltage, current and power is ±0.5%, and for electrical energy ±1%. The normal operating voltage range is 207–253 V, and the extended range is 184–264 V.
Communication is over RS-485 using the Modbus-RTU protocol. The transmission speed is set in the range from 1200 to 115200 bit/s, with 9600 by default, and 2400, 4800 and 19200 are also available. The operating temperature range is −25…+55 °C, and in extended mode −40…+70 °C. The RS-485 parameters, including the address and speed, are agreed with the inverter so that data is read without loss.
Applications include energy monitoring at the grid connection point, zero-export and power limiting functions, and metering in systems with hybrid inverters and storage. For new projects, the meter is chosen for the corresponding current input of the current transformers.
