Description
The iMC784 is a class A power quality analyzer for continuous quality monitoring and event analysis at all voltage levels (when connected through measuring transformers). The MC774 is a class A analyzer intended for detecting local power quality deviations. The iMC784 is certified as a class A instrument per IEC 61000-4-30 Ed. 3 (2015), including by an NMi certificate. It performs harmonic and flicker analysis under the relevant parts of the standard, as well as power quality analysis per EN 50160 with automatic report generation. Accuracy is 0.1 %, as class A requires.
The instrument has 4 voltage channels and 4 current channels with 32 kHz sampling, a measuring range up to 1000 V RMS and 12.5 A with direct connection, and a frequency range of 16–400 Hz. The built-in class 0.2S energy metering is four-quadrant, with 8 counters, up to 4 tariffs with a tariff clock, and pulse outputs. The waveform and transient recorder works with a programmable rate of up to 600 samples per cycle and adjustable pre-fault and post-fault intervals.
Internal flash memory of up to 8 GB stores measured parameters, disturbances, waveforms, alarms, quality reports and descriptions of anomalies with time stamps. Export is available in PQDIF (IEEE 1159-3) and COMTRADE (IEEE C37.111) formats. Communication is via a serial port, USB and Ethernet, with Modbus and DNP3 protocols as standard and IEC 61850 as an option. The instrument integrates into the MiSMART energy monitoring system, and setup and analysis are done with the free MiQen software.
Up to 20 input-output modules make it possible to monitor physical parameters (temperature, wind speed, pressure) and metering of gas, water and heat. The display is 128×64 dots or an optional 5.7″ color TFT. Applications are substations of grid companies, connection points of renewable plants and large consumers, and quality control per EN 50160.
