A digital transducer of gauge or absolute gas pressure in an acid-resistant steel case. The intrinsically safe version II 2G Ex ia IIB T4 Gb allows operation in hazardous zones 1 and 2. It is used at gas regulator and gas distribution stations and together with correctors and recorders.

Description
The CPC-03 measures gauge or absolute gas pressure, and the whole device is made of acid-resistant steel. Measurement, data processing and transmission are performed by a low-power microcontroller. A high-class sensor with microprocessor correction of the characteristic gives high accuracy over the whole operating temperature range and long-term stability. The stated error is specified over the whole ambient temperature range.
The device has the intrinsically safe version II 2G Ex ia IIB T4 Gb (certificate KDB 11ATEX145) and works in hazardous zones 1 and 2. Setup and reading go through an interface compatible with RS-GAZ2. This is a four-wire connection combining power supply and RS-485, with the Gaz-Modem 2/3 protocol (others possible), at a speed from 9600 to 115 200 bit/s. Current consumption is low, 2–4 mA at a supply voltage of 2.7–7.5 V, so the transducer is suitable for battery-powered devices. The CPC-03 works with the CMK-02 and CMK-03 volume correctors, the CRP-03 recorder or as a stand-alone device.
For gauge pressure, ranges of 0–10, 0–17, 0–100, 0–600 and 0–1600 kPa are made, as well as 400–1600 and 1400–6300 kPa, and for absolute pressure 50–300, 90–600, 250–1700, 600–4000 and 1000–7000 kPa. For the upper ranges the error is ±0.2% of the measured value at 23 ± 3 °C and ±0.4% over the whole temperature range. The permissible overload, for example for the 6300 kPa range, is 9000 kPa.
The fitting and case are made of acid-resistant steel 1H18N9T, the sensor diaphragm of 316L steel, and the other parts in contact with the medium of 1.4122 steel and Viton. The process connection is a gauge M20×1.5, others on request. The degree of protection depends on the electrical connector: type H — IP65, type E — IP66/67. The length is about 161 mm, the diameter 38 mm, the weight 0.55 kg, and the operating temperature is from −25 to +55 °C. Reverse polarity and overvoltage protection are built in (90 V arrester, 10 V suppressors). Typical installation sites are process pressure control at gas regulator and gas distribution stations, additional measurement points for correctors and recorders, and gas network telemetry.
