Description
Compact substations (non-accessible) are buildings that personnel do not enter, and the equipment is operated from outside. Substations with a service aisle (walk-in) have an internal passage where operational switching is performed. Both types are made in a transformer or transfer version, with individual solutions. The choice between the two variants depends on whether personnel need access inside the building.
The scope includes a reinforced concrete building from various suppliers, medium-voltage switchgear of the company's own production (for example, ECOS-Z, the compact switchgear for substations, D24, W24) or of other manufacturers, low-voltage switchgear assemblies of the company's own production (system 403, switchgear of the 81–88 series) or third-party ones, and oil-immersed or dry-type transformers. Reactive power compensation units, UPS and metering cabinets are installed in addition.
The scope of work includes project management: processing the inquiry, design, selection and procurement of components, and implementation. Project management gives the customer a single contractor for all stages, from the inquiry to implementation. The substation meets the technical requirements of network operators, applicable standards, laws and regulations. Compliance with network operator requirements is important for connection to distribution networks, including generation under the EEG law.
For industrial customers, special variants are made, that is, installation of MV and LV switchgear and transformers in existing buildings, including air-insulated switchgear from the manufacturer's own plants with a pressure relief duct. The substations are used at power supply companies, in industry, at commercial facilities, for connecting generation under the EEG law (renewable energy) and for electric vehicle charging stations.

Questions and answers
Up to what voltage are packaged substations made?
Up to 36 kV, entirely to customer requirements, turnkey.
How does a compact substation differ from a walk-in substation?
In a compact one the equipment is operated from outside, and personnel do not enter. In the walk-in variant, operational switching is performed inside the building.
What equipment is included in the substation?
A reinforced concrete building, medium-voltage switchgear, low-voltage switchgear assemblies (system 403 or the 81–88 series), and oil-immersed or dry-type transformers. If needed, reactive power compensation, UPS and metering cabinets are added.
