Description
SIS (Solid Insulated Switchgear) is installed at substations and power plants of the 15, 27 and 38 kV classes, up to 40.5 kV. There is a version with one busbar system, CMIS (disconnector panel MH, metering MOF, main feeder CH, feeders FH and backup feeder AH), and with two busbar systems, CSIS (incoming IH, VT, feeder BH, bus tie TIE and sectionalizing SEC). The 25.8 kV SIS passed KERI type tests in 2008 and was supplied in 2009 to the traction substations of Seoul Metro. The 40.5 kV version was tested in 2012–2013.
The circuit breaker drive is built on a permanent magnet actuator, the arc is extinguished by vacuum interrupters embedded in epoxy bushings, with no oil or gas. The main circuit and the busbars are cast in hydrophobic cycloaliphatic epoxy resin HCEP, and per-phase casting excludes phase-to-phase short circuits. Mechanical interlocks link the circuit breaker, the disconnector and the earthing switch, with double protection during maintenance. Automatic transfer switches the load in 1 cycle, with voltage loss and restoration monitored. The footprint is 70 % smaller than for metal-clad switchgear, and the row of panels is easy to extend.
The 27S [D] version has 27.5 kV and 630/1250/2000 A [600/2000 A] according to the manufacturer's table. The insulation withstands 50 [70] kV power frequency and 125 [150] kV impulse, across the disconnector 50 [77] and 140 [165] kV. Withstand current is 25 kA for 1 s (peak 65 kA) or 40 kA (peak 104 kA), protection IP31 [IP41], classes E1 [E2] and M2. The 38S version is rated for 2500 A, 95/200 kV (118/220 kV across the disconnector), 31.5 kA for 3 s (peak 82 kA), IP3X. The 40.5 kV version has 2500 A, 31.5 kA, class E2, works at −25…+40 °C and complies with IEC 62505-1, 2 for railway applications.
Operating voltage is 220 V AC or 110 [220] V DC, operating temperature is −10…+40 °C, and for some versions from −5 and −25 °C. The switchgear is controlled by the microprocessor controller ETR500 with measurement, monitoring, recording and communication, and other relays are also suitable. KERI carried out the type tests to IEC 62271-100, 101, 102, 200 and 201. SIS operates at 22.9 kV distribution substations, power plants, and railway and metro traction substations.
