Description
The manufacturer produces Pad-Mount switchgear for underground cable distribution networks of the 15 and 27 kV classes with solid epoxy or SF6 insulation, as well as a 25.8 kV submersible load break switch. In each unit the vacuum circuit breakers (CB) and load break switches (SW) are assembled in an outer enclosure on a foundation (pad-mounted).
In Solid Pad Mount the circuit breakers have a permanent magnet actuator and vacuum interrupters, and the load break switches a toggle spring mechanism with independent fast closing and opening. The bushings are made of hydrophobic epoxy resin HCEP, and the cast epoxy design simplifies maintenance. There is no gas, so there is no explosion hazard. In SF6 Gas Pad Mount each circuit breaker and load break switch is operated manually, there are three-position devices (closed/open/earthed), a mimic diagram and position indicators. Dimensions are much smaller than for air-insulated switchgear; a rupture disc, pressure gauge and gas refill valve are provided. Both versions have built-in local and remote PD monitoring.
The units break the short-circuit loop current and the load current at rated level, a cable charging current of 25 A and a transformer magnetizing current of 21/15 A. Short-time withstand current is 12.5 kA for 1 s, making capacity 32.5 kA, impulse 85/110 kV. The insulation is tested with DC voltage of 53 and 78 kV for 15 minutes, and the corona extinction voltage is 11 and 19 kV. Service life of the load break switch is 5000 operations, of the circuit breaker 10,000. Measurement is done through 1000:1 CTs and capacitive (2.5–3 %) or resistive (1 %) voltage dividers. The battery keeps the unit operating for 48 hours without AC supply, and a manual release is provided.
Control is performed by the dual relay ETR102/104 or ETCCU104 with a built-in RTU, which implements protection 51P, 51G, 51Q, 50P1–50Q2, CLPU, a fault indicator and sectionalizing. Type tests at KEMA, CESI or KERI were carried out to ANSI C37.60 and the KEPCO specification.
The submersible LBS 25.8 kV (underground-embedded type) with epoxy insulation and vacuum interruption is installed underground. Long-term operation fully flooded has been verified, both the switch and the control unit have degree IPX8, and vehicle impact is excluded. The contacts of the earthing part work in vegetable oil. Rated current is 600 A, withstand 12.5 kA / 1 s, service life 5000 operations for the switch and 1000 for the earthing switch, PD not more than 20 pC, dimensions 1720×1230×1440 mm.
