Metal-clad medium-voltage switchgear 7.2–36 kV (S7/V7 … S36)
Metal-clad medium-voltage switchgear of the S7/V7, S12/V12, S17/V17, V24 and S36 series for voltages from 7.2 to 36 kV. The cubicles use withdrawable vacuum circuit breakers Susol (S series) or Pro-MEC (V series) with rated currents up to 4000 A. Applied at main distribution points of industrial plants, power stations and 6–35 kV substations.

Description
The cubicles are divided by metal partitions into compartments for low voltage, cables, VT, circuit breaker and busbars. The breakers are withdrawable vacuum types of two lines: Susol (S series) and Pro-MEC (V series). Type S7/V7 is rated for 7.2 kV with 20/60 kV insulation, rated current 400–4000 A, breaker breaking current 8–50 kA, withstand 25/40/50 kA / 3 s and IAC 25 kA / 1 s and 40 kA / 0.1 s.
Type S12/V12 has 12 kV, 28/75 kV insulation, currents 630–4000 A, breaking 20–50 kA and IAC up to 50 kA / 0.5 s. Type S17/V17 is rated for 17.5 kV (38/95 kV, 630–2000 and 3150 A, 20–50 kA). Type V24 has 24 kV, 50/125 kV, currents 630, 1250 and 2000 A (breakers up to 3150 A), breaking 12.5–40 kA and IAC 25 kA / 1 s. Type S36 is rated for 36 kV (70/170 kV, 1250, 2000 and 3150 A, 25–40 kA, IAC 40 kA / 1 s). The breaker range also covers 40.5 kV (25–31.5 kA, 1250–3150 A).
The degree of protection is IP4X, and IP3X for one 17.5 kV version. Cubicle width runs from 600 mm (7.2–17.5 kV) to 1200 mm (36 kV), height 2150–2250 mm (optionally 2650 mm), depth 1800–2600 mm. The Susol breaker operates on the cycle O-0.3 s-CO-15 s-CO and has a service life of 30 000 operations. The Pro-MEC VL/VH operates on the cycle O-0.3 s-CO-3 min-CO with a life of 20 000 operations. Type tests to IEC 62271-100 (2008) gave classes M2, E2 (List 3), C2, a breaking time of 3 cycles and a withstand time of 3 s (4 s on request). The cubicles are built to IEC 62271-200. Certification was carried out at KERI, KEMA, CESI and KESCO V-check.
The package includes the current transformer DCI-204A(W) (24 kV, 20–2000 A, 25 kA) and the voltage transformer Y24F/a14 (24 kV, 100 VA), together with GIPAM digital protection and monitoring devices. Accessories include an undervoltage release, an interlock magnet, a key interlock, temperature sensors, MOC, TOC and an earthing switch. The main contacts are tulip type with natural cooling. Floor space savings reach 57 % compared with conventional switchgear, and the incoming breaker and the main VT can be placed in one cubicle.
