The equipment controls induction motors, wound-rotor motors and synchronous motors, as well as transformers and capacitor banks. The series integrates with the manufacturer's HVK/VK circuit breakers.

Description
JK Full Voltage Controller and JK MCC are full voltage starters of compact design without internal power cables. They are installed as stand-alone starters or assembled into an MCC lineup with incoming disconnects. The compact layout reduces the installation area, and a rigid frame of 11 gauge steel protects the internal components. With no power cables inside the cabinet, maintenance is simpler and safer.
The manufacturer's own vertical magnetic arc diffusion system extends service life and improves safety. The visible disconnect has a bolted clamp and mechanical interlocking. The motor and main bus connections have front access, and the LV compartment is isolated and has a hinged panel. Front access allows the cabinets to be placed closer to the wall. The manufacturer assembles and tests the non-latching and latching vacuum contactors itself.
JK Solid State Starter provides soft start and stop of an MV motor, reducing mechanical stress on the drive and the driven unit. At pumping stations the soft stop reduces water hammer in pipelines. The device withstands a 500 % current overload for 60 s, uses a true thermal motor model and has a 7 inch color touch screen with a multilingual interface. Settings are made in SSS TOOL software over RS485. The LV compartment is optically isolated, and a line vacuum contactor and a visible ground bus are included.
Arc-Resistant JK (AR-JK) is an arc-resistant MCC with type 2B accessibility, that is, protection around the whole perimeter, including with the LV compartment open. The main buses are insulated, the exhaust duct is modular and exits to the left, right or rear, the doors and walls are reinforced, and a pressure relief system is provided. JK OEM Power Cell is supplied as a UL-certified kit with a vacuum contactor for integrators to build into their own cabinets. The JK Sync-Xfer scheme transfers several motors between a variable frequency drive and the line.
The series is used for MV pump, fan and compressor drives at mining and cement plants, in water utilities and at oil and gas facilities. It is made by the group's Motors & Drives division in Houston (USA). The products are tested in in-house laboratories accredited to ISO 9001:2015, NVLAP and UL, and service centers operate in Houston and Edmonton.
