EPH concrete packaged transformer substations 12–36 kV, up to 2×1250 kVA
EPH substations are assembled from a reinforced concrete building, one or two transformers, medium voltage switchgear and low voltage boards to IEC 62271-202. Versions for 12, 24 and 36 kV have a rating from 1×50 to 2×1250 kVA with natural ventilation. They are installed in distribution networks, at industrial and generation sites and at charging stations.

Description
Transformer substations have been designed, manufactured and integrated since 1998 at the plant in Noblejas (Toledo). The prefabricated buildings are approved by the largest energy companies in the world and adapt well to the customer's requirements. The substation is the connection point between the consumer or generation and the network. It is used in the grid, generation and industrial sectors.
The composition under IEC 62271-202 (series-produced substations that have passed type tests) comprises a prefabricated building, one or two transformers, medium voltage switchgear, low voltage boards, connections and auxiliary equipment, and safety means. The model range covers monoblock reinforced concrete buildings for above-ground or underground installation for 12, 24 and 36 kV with a rating from 1×50 to 2×1250 kVA with natural ventilation, as well as monoblock metal enclosures for above-ground installation. In buildings with internal operation (EPH-1T, EPHS) 1–2 transformers up to 1600 kVA can be installed, from 1000 kVA with forced ventilation, and an LV board with up to 8 outgoing feeders. Buildings EPH-BP, EPH-CS and EPH-COMP are operated from outside, and the compact equipment there is mounted on a platform through the roof. Underground buildings are entered through a roof hatch and a metal ladder.
The construction is monoblock, with a base and a roof that form a watertight joint. The welded reinforcement forms an equipotential mesh, and the doors and grilles have a resistance of at least 10 kΩ to earth. An oil containment pit and cable openings are provided, the external protection degree is IP23 and impact resistance IK10. Delivery is turnkey.
Special versions. EPH-C-BC is an above-ground sectionalizing point with external operation up to 36 kV: up to 5 SF6 units with remote control, IAC-AB, IP23D, IK10, dimensions 2100×1340 mm, weight 4800 kg. CEADS-G to EN 50532 is a compact substation up to 24 kV with a CC2L1PF-0 unit, an Ecodesign transformer up to 630 kVA and an LV board with a supervisor and remote control via GPRS, for a compact building or a ground-floor room (lonja). The manufacturer has won contracts worth 40 million euros for substations for charging points.

Questions and answers
What voltage and rating classes do EPH substations have?
Versions for 12, 24 and 36 kV with a rating from 1×50 to 2×1250 kVA with natural ventilation. In buildings with internal operation 1–2 transformers up to 1600 kVA can be installed, from 1000 kVA with forced ventilation.
How do substations with internal and external operation differ?
EPH-1T and EPHS are operated from inside, EPH-BP, EPH-CS and EPH-COMP from outside, where the equipment is mounted on a platform through the roof. Underground buildings are entered through a roof hatch.
What protection degree do the substations have and what standards are they made to?
The external protection degree is IP23, impact resistance IK10. The substations comply with IEC 62271-202 and IEC 62271-200, and CEADS-G is made to EN 50532.
