CABINEL modular and compact SF6-insulated secondary distribution switchgear 12–36 kV
CABINEL is a family of metal-enclosed secondary distribution units with SF6 gas insulation for 12, 24 and 36 kV and currents up to 630 A. They are intended for indoor installation in ring and radial medium voltage networks. More than 90 % of the components are made and assembled at the manufacturer's plant in Toledo.

Description
CABINEL units are approved by the largest national and foreign utilities. They are installed indoors in all types of medium voltage distribution networks, ring and radial, fed from one or several points. More than 90 % of the components are made and assembled at the manufacturer's plant in Toledo.
There are two systems. In the modular system one function corresponds to one module, the modules are connected in parallel and the combination is selected for the customer. They are available extensible on one or both sides, or non-extensible. Connections are made with double 630 A connectors, and the free sides of the end units are closed with end caps. The compact system combines several functions in one enclosure with the same characteristics and costs less than the equivalent modular one. The functions are distributed as follows. CML1/CML2 are line units, CMPF1/CMPF2 fuse protection, CMPAS circuit breaker protection with a disconnector, CMR riser units, CMM metering units.
Rated voltages are 12, 24 and 36 kV, currents up to 630 A. The ISF switch-disconnector is rated 400/630 A, with a short-time withstand current of 20 kA, a peak current of 50 kA, a making capacity of 50 kA, mechanical class M2 and electrical class E3. Insulation for 24 kV is 125/145 kV impulse and 50/60 kV power frequency, for 36 kV it is 170–175/195 kV and 70/80 kV. The vacuum circuit breaker withstands 20 kA for 3 s and makes 50 kA. The SF6 filling pressure is 0.03 MPa for 24 kV and 0.05 MPa for 36 kV. The enclosure protection degree is IP2X, impact resistance IK08, and the SF6 tank has IP67.
The units are tested for internal arc withstand and can operate for 24 hours fully submerged, so they are used in underground substations at risk of flooding. Control is local and remote, with integration into communication and SCADA systems. The equipment includes a pressure gauge, a voltage indication system, interlocks and fuse operation signalling. Standards are IEC 62271-200, -103, -105, -102, -100, IEC 60282-1, IEC 60376, EN 50181, IEC 60529. Applications: transformer substations, sectionalizing points, data centres, charging stations and renewable energy sites.
