Description
Heat exchange equipment for regasification of liquefied natural gas is built for both land and marine use. It works in complete systems together with pumps and compressors, from LCNG stations and peak-shaving plants to fuel gas systems of LNG carriers. The characteristics of the vaporizers are matched with the pumps installed upstream, and this is named as a factor of system optimisation.
VAX ambient vaporizers operate at high pressure, and in them the gas is vaporized by heat exchange with the surrounding air without fuel consumption. The outer tubes are made of finned aluminium, the inner ones of high-strength stainless steel. The vaporizers are produced in different sizes and capacities for pressures up to 500 bar. They are installed downstream of high-pressure reciprocating pumps: at LCNG stations, when filling buffers and tube trailers, and in peak-shaving systems. In such systems LNG, after pressure boost, is fed to the vaporizers and then to the gas network. Electric heaters (trim heaters) bring the gas temperature after the vaporizers to the required value before delivery to the consumer.
For ships there are shell-and-tube heat exchangers with U-tubes, made entirely of stainless steel. The units are welded, single-pass, designed for cryogenic applications and approved by all major classification societies. They are supplied with temperature control valves, the necessary instrumentation and local control panels. On LNG carriers such heat exchangers work as LNG vaporizers and gas heaters in fuel gas preparation systems and in cargo tank operations, alongside CM and SCM 360 compressors. Temperature is controlled by proven algorithms. The manufacturer stresses the robust design and trouble-free operation of every set.
For land use, LNG regasification systems for power plants and peak shaving are also offered. They include SUBTRAN submerged pumps, high-pressure reciprocating pumps, vaporizers, PLC-based control systems and process consulting.
Applications are satellite LNG regasification stations, peak-shaving plants for gas networks, LCNG stations, industrial LNG consumers, LNG carriers and bunkering vessels. Every machine undergoes factory mechanical and cryogenic tests.
