Description
Cylinders rated 150–300 bar are used for small-scale gas distribution. According to the manufacturer, its technologies equip more than 100 filling stations worldwide, backed by over 50 years of experience. Both individual units and complete turnkey stations are designed and built.
A typical station includes high-pressure piston pumps for LIN, LOX, LAr, LNG and CO₂, high-pressure vaporizers, buffer vessels, a cold filling system, filling skids, ramps and a control system. Atmospheric vaporizers with external finned aluminium tubes and inner tubes of high-strength stainless steel are rated for pressure up to 500 bar, and a vaporizer changeover panel is added on request. Electric heaters of up to 90 kW reheat the gas at pressure up to 420 bar. Buffer skids accumulate gas between production and filling and stabilize pressure during peak demand hours. Cold filling feeds cryogenic liquid directly into the cylinders, so in hot weather and at high pressure topping up is needed less often.
Gas filling skids are assembled with full valves and instrumentation for individual gases and mixtures. Dosing is carried out by three standard methods: by mass flow meter, by scales or by pressure and temperature correlation. The skids have CTE or BAM approval for oxygen and ATEX for flammable gases. Filling ramps are rated for batches of up to 16 cylinders and have platforms, stairs, bumpers, a tray for flexible hoses and a protective cage for personnel. For liquid CO₂ and N₂O there are liquid filling skids for one gas, two single gases or mixtures. A PLC monitors all station modules, protected procedures rule out operator errors, and there are touch panels and remote access.
Micro station is a mobile manual filling station, up to 120 B50 cylinders per day, pressure up to 300 bar at 15 °C. No building is needed, and a containerized version is available. For hydrogen the manufacturer offers automatic GH₂ tube trailer filling stations of European manufacture. They have been tested up to 520 bar at 15 °C, with capacity up to 450 kg/h per loading point, and are certified to ISO 14687:2025 and IEC 61508.
