YJV / YJLV / YJLHV power cables 6–35 kV with XLPE and PP insulation (including fire-resistant and water-blocking)
The manufacturer produces medium-voltage power cables of 6–35 kV with cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) and polypropylene (PP) insulation. They are laid in distribution networks, internal networks of wind and solar plants, at industrial enterprises, in transport and in data centres. The company's cables operate, among others, at a big data processing base in Tianjin.

Description
The main XLPE line covers the grades YJV, YJLV, YJLHV with a PVC sheath and YJY, YJLY, YJLHY with a polyethylene sheath. Armoured versions with tapes and wires are designated by the indices …22, …23, …32 and …33. The full range of armoured grades includes YJV22, YJLV22, YJLHV22, YJV23, YJLV23, YJLHV23, YJV32, YJLV32, YJLHV32, YJV33, YJLV33 and YJLHV33. Versions …22 and …23 have steel tape armour, …32 and …33 wire armour, and the second digit indicates a PVC or polyethylene sheath. Conductors of copper, aluminium or aluminium alloy have low resistivity and high permissible current load. Cross-sections are 25–1600 mm², in single- and three-core versions, including with reduced flammability.
The set of grades covers laying in ground, cable structures, in air and under mechanical loads. The cables are used in urban underground networks, at power plant outlets, for internal supply of industrial and mining enterprises and on submarine crossings of rivers and straits. For networks of wind and solar plants, industrial enterprises, transport and data centres, the grade is chosen by the laying method and the mechanical loads along the route.
Cables of 6–35 kV with polypropylene insulation are made to Q/0900TDL111-2022 and T/CEEIA 591-2022. The construction includes a stranded conductor, a conductor screen, polypropylene insulation, an insulation screen, a metal screen, a separating sheath, armour and an outer sheath. The permissible continuous conductor temperature is 90 °C. There is no cross-linking in production, so energy-intensive heating is not needed and emissions are lower. The thermoplastic material can be recycled many times, and the high purity of polypropylene keeps insulation quality stable.
Fire-resistant cables WDZB1N-(YJV, YJY, YJV22, YJV23, YJV32, YJV33) have the same armoured versions as the main line and flammability class B1. They remain operational during a fire and do not propagate flame. Conductors of oxygen-free copper have a resistivity of not more than 0.01700 Ω·mm²/m. Water-blocking cables FS-(YJV, YJLV, YJLHV…) are laid in damp soils and structures that may be flooded.

Questions and answers
What cross-sections do YJV cables of 6–35 kV have?
From 25 to 1600 mm², single- or three-core, with conductors of copper, aluminium or aluminium alloy.
How does PP insulation differ from XLPE?
Polypropylene is not cross-linked, so production needs no energy-intensive heating, and the material can be recycled many times. The permissible continuous conductor temperature is 90 °C.
Which cables suit sites with fire safety requirements?
Fire-resistant WDZB1N-(YJV, YJY and armoured) of flammability class B1 remain operational during a fire and do not propagate flame.
