Separable cable connectors for connecting medium- and high-voltage cables to the bushings of switchgear, GIS, transformers and motors. Description
The IEC programme is based on screened T-type connectors. RSTI is rated up to 42 kV at 1250 A. RSTI-VS has a built-in voltage sensor and works up to 24 kV at 630/1250 A, and RSTS with a resistive voltage sensor is rated for 24 kV and 250 A. RSES/RSSS are produced up to 24 kV at 250 A or up to 36 kV at 400 A, and the hybrid EPDM/silicone ELBC up to 24 kV at 630 A. Asymmetrical RSTI are compatible with OAS resistive voltage sensors, so the voltage can be measured directly in the T-connector without a separate voltage transformer. The earthed screen makes the connector safe to touch and the switchgear connection more compact.
RPIT plug-in terminations are rated for voltages up to 52 kV and a current of 800/1250 A. RSTF connectors work up to 72.5 kV and 1250 A, and they are used in offshore wind farms, marine substations and solar power plants. For HV bushings with an inner cone, PHVX plug-in joints up to 245 kV are intended.
ELB elbow connectors are made to IEEE. ELB for 15 and 25 kV, 200 A allow load-break operation. ELB-15-28 for 15/28 kV, 600/900 A and ELB-35-DB for 35 kV, 600/900 A are not load-break. Asymmetrical compact ELBA work up to 35 kV at 600 A. ELB-BI bushing inserts and ELB-IC insulating caps are produced for 15, 25 and 35 kV. According to the manufacturer, the elbow connector lines comply with IEEE 386.
Unscreened products complete the programme. The insulated T-adapter RICS is rated up to 24 kV at 630 A, the heat-shrink bushing caps RSRB up to 36 kV, and the elastomeric caps RCAB up to 24 kV at 630 A. The connectors are used in switchgear and GIS of distribution networks, at transformer substations, in motor connections and at wind and solar power plants.
