Description
The generators are designed for the characteristics of a specific plant, relying on the company's own experience in calculating and supplying rotating electrical machines. Turbo-generators of the ST20, ST40 and ST41 lines are built in a wide range of ratings for drive by steam or gas turbines. The limit ratings are 200 000 kVA in the two-pole version and 62 500 kVA in the four-pole version. According to the company, it has supplied 2033 turbo-generators with a total power of 40 155 MW.
For steam turbine power plants the company makes and installs its own steam turbines from 0.1 to 150 MW, which drive generators from small to large ratings. These are machines of the SuperTurbo and RTS/RTM lines with an inlet steam pressure up to 140 bar and a temperature up to 540 °C. The package includes turbo-reduction gears, generators, distribution, control and protection switchboards, medium-voltage control desks and monitoring systems. Such plants run on steam from burning biomass, biogas, municipal solid waste and other fuels, including in cogeneration mode.
Hydro-generators are built in a wide range of ratings and rotational speeds, up to 150 MVA. The winding technology is selected for the generation voltage; coils are wound from rectangular copper wire or made as Roebel bars. The company has supplied 3189 hydro-generators with a total power of 8668 MW. For small and medium hydro plants the company supplies the complete station, including Pelton, Francis and Kaplan hydro turbines up to 50 MW according to IEC 61364, which it has manufactured for over 60 years. Turbines of these types are built in various versions and for various applications, and the design is done by qualified engineers using specialized software.
The machines are tested according to NBR 5383, IEC 60034, NEMA MG 1 or API in laboratories rated up to 20 000 kVA and up to 15 000 V. Every machine undergoes acceptance tests, and type and special tests are performed at the customer's request. The service department carries out installation, adjustment and start-up and manages hydro plant projects. Repair, upgrading and power uprating of turbo- and hydro-generators, both its own and those of other manufacturers, are carried out on site or at the plants in Jaraguá do Sul, Sertãozinho and São Bernardo do Campo.
