Description
The enterprise is one of the largest turbogenerator manufacturers in China. More than 1200 turbogenerators have been made for coal-fired power plants, and they have been supplied to more than 20 countries in Asia, Europe and South America, while the products are exported to 48 countries. The overall range of turbogenerators is from 6 to 1350 MW, and for coal-fired plants 10–1200 MW. Cooling of coal-fired machines may be water-hydrogen, air or fully hydrogen. This makes it possible to select a generator for a unit from 200 to 1100 MW within one range.
For large coal-fired units, two-pole turbogenerators with fully hydrogen and combined water-hydrogen cooling are produced. According to the manufacturer, the line covers generators of 200–1100 MW with water-hydrogen cooling (water in the stator winding, hydrogen in the rotor and core) and generators of 300–600 MW with fully hydrogen cooling. The latter are designed for deep load regulation and high flexibility. They are aimed at units that change load often. The choice between water-hydrogen and fully hydrogen cooling depends on the unit power and its operating mode. Network frequency 50 and 60 Hz. The second generation of the two-pole 1000 MW generator with water-hydrogen cooling has been developed and put into operation.
The generators are installed on ultra-supercritical 1000 MW units (Zouxian plant), 660 MW units (Wuhu plant), 350 MW (Huangtai plant) and many others, including the recently commissioned unit No. 1 of the Datang Yan’an plant. Modernisation of existing turbogenerators with the addition of a synchronous condenser mode is also carried out. Such modernisation is done on the existing turbogenerator, not by replacing the whole machine. In 2026 the generator of the Henan Nengxin CHP plant, after such reconstruction, passed 168-hour tests and can work in both generator and condenser mode. The main purpose of the machine does not change, and condenser mode is added to generator mode.
Manufacturing and testing take place in Deyang (Sichuan, China) at a state-level test bench for large electrical machines. This bench is designed for testing large electrical machines before shipment. The enterprise has 11 digital workshops and an annual capacity of about 60 GW of power generation equipment.
