Description
A rotational speed of 1500–3600 rpm corresponds to two- and four-pole machines for 50 and 60 Hz networks. The manufacturer describes the generators as compact and light, with high output and efficiency, low noise and vibration, and easy to maintain. Brushless excitation eliminates slip rings and brushes, so maintenance is reduced and, in a hazardous area, a source of sparking disappears. A box-type frame is a welded base of rectangular cross-section that also serves as the foundation for the cooler.
The range of cooling methods is wide, from open IC01 and air-to-air coolers IC611, IC616, IC666 to air-to-water IC81W and IC86W. The generator can be selected for a machine hall, container or outdoor installation. The rotor is made of forged alloy steel, with end-shield sleeve bearings, IMB3 mounting and degree of protection IP21–IP56. Standard installation altitude is up to 1000 m, and up to 5000 m above sea level on request. Open IC01 suits a clean machine hall, while closed circuits with coolers are needed for dusty or humid environments and containers.
Ex ec, Ex pxb and Ex pzc versions are provided for explosive areas. The generators comply with GB, IEC and EN and hold IECEx, CCC and CE certificates. The item also includes a 105 MW class version that works both as a generator and as a motor. Its parameters are 30 000–150 000 kW, 1500–3600 rpm, 6000–15 750 V, IC81W cooling, and its purpose is linked to expander-generator units and compressed-air energy storage systems.
By class, these generators correspond to air-cooled small and medium-power turbogenerators of types Т, ТК and ТФ, which are installed at CHP plants, mini thermal plants and gas-engine power plants. The manufacturer’s references include 30 MW brushless generators for gas turbines and 38 MW box-type synchronous generators.
For Ukrainian CHP plants and cogeneration units, the item is of interest when replacing generators of old turbine sets or equipping new gas-turbine and steam-turbine units. During selection, the turbine speed, the voltage of the generator switchgear and the available cooling system are checked. If the generator feeds an isolated plant network, it is checked in advance whether it can hold the voltage during start-up of the largest motors.
