Description
AFWF cooling uses an air-to-water scheme with a built-in heat exchanger, which suits enclosed ship compartments where heat cannot be removed by air alone. Pre-magnetizing devices can be fitted as an option to limit inrush currents when the transformer is energized. With shore power (cold ironing), a ship at the quay shuts down its diesel generators and takes energy from the port grid. The 7500 kVA figure refers to projects already completed and is not the limit of the series.
