Description
FastWorks is a range of preconfigured power transformers for UK grid infrastructure, created for projects where speed of deployment is decisive. Unlike custom-designed transformers, they are supplied in ready-made 33 kV and 132 kV configurations without additional engineering. This shortens the manufacturing time to 24 weeks for 33 kV and 52 weeks for 132 kV. The transformers are manufactured in the United Kingdom and comply with IEC 60076, Tier 2 requirements and the UK standards ENA TS 35-2 and 35-3. Warranty 2.5 years, design service life over 40 years.
The 132 kV version: 60/90 MVA, 132/33 kV, vector groups YNd11 or YNd1, ONAN/OFAF-CMR cooling. The built-in vacuum OLTC has a range of +10/−20 % in steps of 1.67 % (18 steps, 19 positions). Insulation levels are HV 650 kV impulse and 230 kV with graded insulation down to 95/38 kV at the neutral, LV 170/70 kV. Noise is specified to ENA TS 35-3, HV bushings are outdoor, and the LV side has a cable box. Weight 106 t, dimensions 7800×5600×6800 mm.
The 33 kV versions are rated 7.5/10/15 MVA and 12/16/24 MVA, voltage 33/11.5 kV, vector group Dyn11. Cooling is ONAN, OFAF-CMR or OFAF-CER. The externally mounted vacuum OLTC regulates voltage within ±10 % in steps of 1.25 % (17 positions). Insulation is HV 170/70 kV, LV 75/28 kV. For the first version, weight is 22.7 t and dimensions are 4350×3450×3750 mm.
The equipment includes mounted radiators, fans, a gas relay, a pressure relay, winding and oil temperature indicators, a magnetic oil level indicator, built-in current transformers, a terminal cabinet and a remote OLTC control panel. An example is three FastWorks 33/11.5 kV 20/25/40 MVA transformers in Coventry, installed 30 weeks after the order. Applications include DNO substations, BESS and renewables, and connection of data centres and industrial sites at 33 and 132 kV.
Transformers are fully assembled and tested at the factory in Loughborough (United Kingdom). The test facility, which complies with IEC (BS EN) and ENA, performs routine and type tests up to 170 kV, including impulse, temperature rise, SFRA, and measurement of partial discharge, losses and noise level. Technical support is available around the clock, 365 days a year.
