FITformer WIND are step-up transformers for wind turbines rated up to 20 MVA at voltages up to 145 kV. They are designed for installation in the nacelle or the tower of the turbine.

Description
For onshore wind farms the transformers are built for 4–10 MVA, for offshore ones for 10–20 MVA. Cooling is forced, with an oil/air or oil/water scheme, and the latter is used in the 6–10 MVA range. The transformer is built directly into the wind turbine, in the nacelle or in the tower, so the design is made for limited space.
