Susol and Pro-MEC vacuum circuit breakers for voltages of 7.2, 12, 17.5, 24, 36 and 40.5 kV, rated currents 400–4000 A and breaking currents 8–50 kA. They form the basis of the manufacturer's medium-voltage switchgear and are also supplied separately. Type tests were performed to IEC 62271-100.

Description
The vacuum circuit breakers of the Susol (S) and Pro-MEC (V) series form the basis of the manufacturer's medium-voltage switchgear. They are also supplied separately, for fitting into switchgear of other makers. The manufacturer produces the vacuum interrupters itself for voltages of 7.2, 12, 17.5, 24, 36 and 40.5 kV, currents up to 4000 A and breaking currents up to 50 kA.
Per the switchgear catalogue: For 7.2 kV the breaking currents are 8, 12.5, 20, 25, 31.5, 40 and 50 kA, with rated currents of 400–4000 A. For 12/17.5 kV the figures are 20–50 kA and 630–4000 A, for 24 kV 12.5–40 kA and 630–3150 A, for 36 kV 25–40 kA and 1250–3150 A, and for 40.5 kV 25 and 31.5 kA and 1250–3150 A. The short-time withstand current is held for 3 s (4 s on request), and the breaking time is 3 cycles.
Example from the Susol VCB catalogue: the VL-15 breaker. Voltage 15 kV, currents 630 and 2500 A, breaking current 25 kA (650 MVA), withstand 25 kA / 3 s (4 s possible), making capacity 63 kA. Insulation 36 / 95 kV, 50 Hz, withdrawable version H only, for metal-clad switchgear, cycle O-0.3 s-CO-3 min-CO. Testing was carried out at CESI to IEC 62271-100 and to the requirements of WAPDA / NTDC.
The VL-17.5 breaker is rated for 17.5 kV, currents 630, 1250 and 2000 A, breaking 20 / 25 kA (600 / 750 MVA), withstand 3 / 4 s. Making capacity is 2.5 Isc at 50 Hz or 2.6 Isc at 60 Hz, insulation 38 / 95 kV, frequency 50/60 Hz, cycle O-0.3 s-CO-15 s-CO. Fixed version P; withdrawable E, F (metal-enclosed switchgear) and H (metal-clad switchgear); pole spacing 150 or 210 mm. Testing was done by KEMA and KERI.
The spring mechanism has motor charging and a closing spring, with control voltage DC 24–220 V and AC 48–250 V. Type tests cover classes M2 (mechanical), E2 (List 3) and C2 (capacitive currents). The service life of Susol is 30 000 operations, and of Pro-MEC VL/VH 20 000. A Susol VCB version for nuclear power plants is also available. The breakers are fitted in switchgear of 6–35 kV distribution and industrial substations, motor and transformer cubicles, power stations and upgrades of existing switchgear.
