Description
In a traction network the load break switch switches the working currents of feeders and catenary sections, the disconnector creates a visible break, and the earthing switch earths the de-energised section before work. A single-phase AC traction network requires single-pole devices; two-pole ones are used where both supply conductors are opened.
Indoor devices (767) are single-pole, for rated voltage up to 27.5 kV and rated current up to 6300 A. They are installed in the switchgear of traction substations and sectioning posts. The range includes the load break switch H22-1B for 27.5 kV and 630 A, the load break switch H27-1B for 15 kV and 400 A, disconnectors L31 / ITr and earthing switches ES for 15 and 27.5 kV AC and also for 1.5 kV DC, with rated currents of 630–6300 A.
The indoor devices are built on the basis of the network series H22, H27 and ITr/ES, from which they inherited their design. The arc extinguishing chambers need no maintenance, the drives are torsion spring drives, and operation is manual or motorised. Manual operation suits posts where switching is infrequent, while motorised operation is needed for remote control from a power dispatch centre. A separate manual B767.1e has been issued for load break switches and B767.2e for earthing switches and disconnectors.
Outdoor devices (768) come in single-pole and two-pole versions, for rated voltage up to 29 kV and currents up to 2000 A. According to the overview catalogue, the load break switches FLa 15/97-1B and -2B are made for 15 and 29 kV with rated currents of 630–3000 A, and the disconnectors and earthing switches FTr and FES for 15 and 29 kV AC have currents from 630 to 6300 A. For remote control the motor drives UM and UMPlus are used, installed on a portal, a pole or in a tunnel.
Typical places of installation are traction substations and sectioning posts of railways, catenary sectioning, switchgear of traction transformers, and underground and suburban line facilities. Production is located in Germany. For selection the voltage and frequency of the traction network, rated current, number of poles, place of installation and type of drive are needed.
