FLa 15/60 and FLa 15/64 — outdoor load-break switches 12–38.5 kV with oil arc extinction
FLa 15/60 and FLa 15/64 are outdoor three-phase load-break switches for medium-voltage overhead lines of 12, 24, 36 and 38.5 kV, rated currents 400 and 630 A. The arc is extinguished in oil, and the devices comply with EN 62271-103. The series is intended for sectionalizing networks, connecting pole-mounted transformer substations and protecting transformers.

Description
The FLa 15/60 and FLa 15/64 series covers outdoor three-phase load-break switches with an oil arc-extinguishing medium. This is the classic line on the basis of which the FLa 15/97 vacuum switch was created. Both series are close in design, which simplifies replacement and upgrading. Rated voltages are 12, 24, 36 and 38.5 kV, and rated currents are 400 and 630 A.
FLa 15/60 is made in a three-phase version (brochure 762). The FLa 15/64 series (brochure 763) includes the vertical versions FLa 15/6400, the version FLa 15/6410 with HV fuse holders and FLa 15/6410 SA. The latter has an energy storage mechanism that gives all-pole tripping when a fuse operates. A common operating manual covers the types FLa 15/60, FLa 15/6400, FLa 15/6410 and FLa 15/6410 SA.
The devices are mounted on wooden and concrete poles and on crossarms. Control is manual, with a single, double or triple drive, or motor-operated with the UM drive (brochure 776). The range also includes auxiliary switches and hot-dip galvanized steel structures. For the existing fleet of FLa 15/60, adapters are provided that make it possible to fit the devices with vacuum interrupters. Oil arc extinction can thus be replaced with oil-free extinction without changing the whole design.
The manufacturer's adjacent outdoor apparatus program includes the universal motor drive UM for indoor and outdoor switching devices, the intelligent load-break switch FLa 15/97-6400, vacuum load-break switches up to 38.5 kV and outdoor disconnectors 12–52 kV.
Applications: sectionalizing and taps of overhead distribution networks 10–35 kV, connection of pole-mounted transformer substations, and transformer protection in combination with fuses. For new installations, the manufacturer recommends the FLa 15/97 vacuum series. The oil-filled FLa 15/60 and 15/64 remain in the program for extending and repairing networks with already installed devices. According to the manufacturer's page, a rated current of 400 A is given for FLa 15/60, while the series description gives 400 and 630 A.
