ITr / ES — indoor disconnectors, fuse bases and earthing switches 12–38.5 kV

The indoor apparatus range for a visible break and earthing in medium-voltage switchgear (brochure 731) includes ITr disconnectors, HV fuse bases and ES earthing switches. Rated voltages are 12, 24, 36 and 38.5 kV, and disconnector rated currents are from 400 to 6300 A. The devices comply with EN 62271-102 and EN 60282-1.

Description

Disconnectors and earthing switches are built to EN 62271-102, and fuse bases to EN 60282-1. The devices are installed both in the company's own switchgear and when assembling switchgear from other makers. Disconnector rated currents are 400, 630, 1600, 2500, 4000 and 6300 A, so they are used from feeders to heavy incomers and busbar sections. A visible break is needed for safe work, because personnel can see the open position, and the earthing switch then removes residual voltage.

Earthing switches are rated for short-circuit currents of 50 and 80 kA (peak values). In PRO-AIR H switchgear for 36 kV, for example, ITr 36-630-20 and ITr 36-1600-20 disconnectors and ES 36-20 and ES 36-31.5 earthing switches are used. The H22 load-break switches use built-in ES-20 (20 kA) and ES-31.5 (31.5 kA, making capacity 50 kA, 3 s) earthing switches. They withstand making onto a short circuit and are mechanically interlocked with the load-break switch. A disconnector, a fuse base and an earthing switch can be taken from one apparatus range for one cubicle.

Fuse bases are intended for HV fuses to DIN 43625 in voltage transformer circuits, auxiliary transformer circuits and feeders. On request, multi-pole versions of the devices are made to customer requirements. Universal motor drives UM are used for remote control, and manual drives for manual operation (brochures 773/774). The UM drives also suit outdoor apparatus. Rated voltages of 12, 24, 36 and 38.5 kV cover the typical medium-voltage network classes.

Applications include switchgear of distribution and main step-down substations, industrial switchgear, incomers and busbar sectionalizing, and maintenance earthing of connections. For traction substations, special versions L31 / ITr and ES to EN 50152-2 for 1.5 kV DC and 15/27.5 kV AC, 630–6300 A, are made, and they are described in a separate item for railway apparatus. The type of device, the number of poles and the drive are selected for the scheme of the specific switchgear.
