ET-LBS / ET-DS — DC load break switches and disconnectors 750/1500 V for traction switchgear
ET-LBS and ET-DS are DC load break switches and disconnectors 750/1500 V for traction switchgear. The load break switch is rated for currents of 1000–2500 A and 2 million operations, the disconnector for currents up to 6000 A. The apparatus is interlocked with the ETCPU200 relay.

Description
For DC switchgear and traction substations the company produces the load break switches ET-LBS and the disconnectors ET-DS. Both apparatus work together with the high-speed HSCB breakers and the ETCPU200 protection relay, with which they have an electrical interlock. They are installed in the cubicles of the ETGR switchgear, at the inputs and feeders of traction substations, on rectifier busbars and in schemes for paralleling catenary feeders.
The DC Load Break Switch ET-LBS makes and breaks load in various modes. Fast spring opening shortens the current interruption time, and a circular arc chute extinguishes the arc quickly and completely. The fast spring charging mechanism reduces the load on the drive, and high mechanical and electrical wear resistance reduces maintenance. The apparatus has high short-time withstand current and breaking capacity.
The maximum voltage of the ET-LBS is 1500 V, insulation voltage 3.82 kV, impulse 12 kV. Rated currents per the table are 1000, 1250, 1600, 2000 and 2500 A. Short-circuit breaking current is 6400 and 10 000 A, short-time withstand current 13 000 and 20 000 A for 1 s. Switching frequency is up to 120 cycles per hour, control supply 220 V AC or 24/48/110/220 V DC, operating temperature from −25 to +70 °C. Endurance is up to 2 million mechanical and electrical operations. The load break switch is suitable for isolated networks, networks with a grounded negative and with a grounded midpoint, and complies with IEC 60947-1 and IEC 60947-4-1.
The DC Disconnector Switch ET-DS switches DC circuits without load. It is compact and easy to build into DC switchgear. Key switches set interlocking or unlocking and manual or motorised mode. The apparatus was tested for a short-time withstand current of up to 125 kA (RMS), and the manufacturer's table gives 178 kA. Rated voltage is 750 / 1500 V DC at a maximum of 900 / 1800 V, insulation 11 kV AC between phases and 9.2 kV to earth, control circuits 2 kV. Rated currents are 1000, 2000, 4000 and 6000 A, control is automatic and manual, control voltage 110/220 V DC. Endurance is up to 100 000 operations, operation time less than 2 s, standard IEC 61992.
