A-1000 / A-1200 and SEIN / SIT expulsion fuse cut-outs 15–36 kV and sectionalizers
Single-pole expulsion fuse cut-outs for 15, 24 and 36 kV protect 6–36 kV overhead networks, pole-mounted transformers and capacitors. They interrupt up to 8 kA symmetrical and 12 kA asymmetrical current. Ceramic and polymer versions are available, along with SEIN and SIT sectionalizers.

Description
Expulsion fuse cut-outs are single-pole devices for vertical outdoor mounting. They protect 6–36 kV overhead distribution networks, primarily distribution transformers and pole-mounted capacitors. All devices have hooks for load breaking with special hot sticks (connected in parallel with the fuse carrier), and a guide system safely closes the carrier regardless of the operator's position. The products are fully interchangeable with equivalents under RU 6406 B.
Versions A-1000 and A-1200 have a single insulator and are intended for 15 and 24 kV networks. For 36 kV the A-1200/36 and A-1200/36/GL are produced (a porcelain insulator with an increased creepage distance). There are ceramic devices with a double insulator (AC-1200 I/III) and polymer ones A-1200-P/24, A-1200-VP/24, A-1200-VP/36 and A-1000-VP. In the polymer ones an epoxy fibreglass rod is covered with a silicone housing; they are vandal-resistant and hydrophobic, have inclined sheds of two diameters and are fully interchangeable with the ceramic ones. Weight is from 7.8 to 15.1 kg. Fuse links of types K and T are used, and the tables of recommended links for transformers (10–2000 kVA) and capacitors are valid at −10…+40 °C.
Base current is 200 A, fuse carrier 100 A, and the disconnecting blade 200 A (installed instead of the carrier to work as a disconnector). Breaking capacity is 8 kA symmetrical and 12 kA asymmetrical current. Insulation to earth / across the gap is 35/45 and 95/115 kV (15 kV), 50/60 and 125/145 kV (24 kV), 70/80 and 170/195 kV (36 kV). Tests were carried out at CESI (Milan), LCOE and LABEIN, namely breaking capacity to IEC 60282-2, the housing and fittings of the polymer insulators to IEC 61109, and salt fog.
Electronic programmable sectionalizers SEIN (single-phase) and SIT (three-phase) up to 36 kV, 230 A, 8/12 kA, with GSM/GPRS communication, are installed in the cut-out holder. The sectionalizer works with a main circuit breaker (recloser), distinguishes permanent from transient faults and disconnects the branch only on a permanent short circuit. This reduces the number of supply interruptions and the maintenance costs of problem taps.
