Description
The 3TM and 3TL71 contactors switch motors, transformers, capacitor banks and other loads that are switched on and off frequently. Unlike circuit breakers, they are not designed to interrupt short-circuit currents; this function is performed by fuses or the incomer breaker. Instead, the contactor is rated for a very large number of operating operations, up to a million cycles, with minimal maintenance. Both types cover utilization categories AC-1…AC-4, from resistive loads to heavy motor duty with reversing and inching.
3TM is a compact high-performance contactor for networks up to 15 kV with a rated current of up to 450 A. It performs up to one million electrical and mechanical cycles without maintenance. The poles are modular, in one- or three-pole versions, and the control voltage is selected with DIP switches, which eases retrofit and modernization. The contactor can be mounted in practically any position, allows individual adjustment of the operating time, withstands vibration and shock, and operates at altitudes up to 5000 m. It switches operating currents and overloads even during voltage dips, and the low coil power reduces energy consumption.
3TL71 is one of the few three-pole vacuum contactors on the market rated for 24 kV. Rated current is 800 A, mechanical endurance up to 1 million cycles. The narrow stacked layout saves space in the panel.
Applications include starters of high-voltage motors of pumps, fans, compressors and conveyors, elevator and hoisting installations, pumping stations, HVAC systems, data centers, switching of capacitor banks for reactive power compensation, wind and solar plants, mining, railways and shipbuilding.
