Description
3AH47 is built on the proven modular 3AH platform. It combines a repeatedly tested vacuum circuit-breaker set with the flexibility required by the various traction power supply systems around the world.
The breaker supports 16.7 Hz systems used in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Scandinavia, as well as 25 Hz and 50/60 Hz, and various regional requirements. Rated voltage is up to 27.5 kV, short-circuit breaking current up to 50 kA, rated current up to 2500 A. Endurance is up to 60,000 switching operations with simple maintenance, which matters for catenary feeders with frequent trips and reclosing.
An optional capacitor trip device is provided for fast fault clearing and for keeping the breaker operable if the control supply is lost. The vacuum interrupter is sealed and requires no maintenance of the arc-quenching medium. Catenary feeders suffer frequent short circuits because of line faults, so endurance and fast reclosing are important for the breaker. During selection, the system frequency, voltage, short-circuit current at the installation point, the supply scheme and the railway operator's feeder protection requirements are checked.
