Description
Steam turbines are made by the subsidiary turbine plant in Harbin (China), one of three power engineering plants founded in the city in 1951. The group has mastered foreign steam turbine development technologies and produces main equipment for coal power plants at a rate of about 30 GW per year. According to the company, it accounts for about one third of the installed coal power capacity in China and has been supplied to more than 500 power plants in the country and in more than 30 countries.
For 1000 MW ultra-supercritical reheat power units operating in flexible mode, the manufacturer designs and makes a complete set of equipment. It includes boilers, turbines, generators and main valves. Such units have the highest steam parameters among coal-fired equipment. Reheating returns the steam after the high-pressure section to the boiler for repeated heating, which increases efficiency. Flexible mode means operation under variable load in the grid. In the unit, the turbine works with the generator and the condensing plant, and the boiler provides steam of the required parameters.
For the industrial sector, the world's first low-output ultra-supercritical unit has been created, 145 MW (below 200 MW), for a metallurgical process gas recovery project.
Turbine sets are also supplied for nuclear power plants, including the Guohe-1 (CAP1400) reactor and the Shidaowan high-temperature gas-cooled reactor. There are also turbine sets for solar thermal plants and compressed air energy storage plants (expanders, air turbines).
Detailed characteristics of the steam turbines (steam parameters, number of cylinders, rotational speed) are not given in the available materials, so they are clarified for a specific unit. For selection, the unit input data are needed, that is the output, the parameters of live steam and of reheated steam, the type of condenser cooling and the load mode. Manufactured in Harbin (China). For nuclear and solar plants the steam parameters are lower than in coal ultra-supercritical units, so the turbine design is selected for the specific plant. The scope of supply and the conditions of installation and service are defined separately for each project, including the type of condenser cooling and the number of steam extractions.
