Description

Small and medium steam turbines are built in single- and double-cylinder versions with ratings from 40 to 300 MW. They are intended for power plants with and without steam reheat. The range covers condensing turbines, condensing turbines with one and two controlled steam extractions, turbines with steam admission from an external source (admission) and back-pressure turbines. Different numbers of extractions make it possible to supply steam for process needs or heating, so the turbine type is chosen for the thermal scheme of the plant. For this reason they are installed at condensing power plants, industrial CHP plants and combined-cycle plants.

Rotational speed is 3000 rpm for 50 Hz grids and 3600 rpm for 60 Hz grids. The blading is of the reaction type: steam velocity in a reaction stage is lower, and the change of flow direction in the rotor blades is smaller than in an impulse stage, which raises efficiency. The rotor blades have a solid-milled shroud, and the blades of the last low-pressure stages are free-standing, without a shroud wire. The double casing separates the inner and outer shells and reduces thermal stresses and deformations.

The turbines are suitable for power plants fired by fossil fuel, biomass and solar thermal energy. They are supplied together with air-cooled synchronous generators, so there is no need to select a separate generator for the turbine. The manufacturer carries out design, manufacture, installation, commissioning and service, and this removes part of the coordination between contractors on site.

Examples of deliveries from the manufacturer's reference list. The Itoigawa biomass power plant has a single-cylinder 50 MW condensing turbine with a 55.556 MVA generator. The Tarahan coal-fired plant in Indonesia, units 3 and 4, is equipped with 100 MW and 125.5 MVA units. At the Fortaleza combined-cycle plant in Brazil, a single-cylinder mixed-pressure turbine of 117.8 MW operates with a 144.6 MVA generator. Double-cylinder reheat turbines have been supplied for Taiheiyo Cement (149 MW) and UBE Power Center (216 MW, 240 MVA), and a 130.5 MW turbine for Newman Unit 5 of El Paso Electric in the US.
