DST-S is a modular line of medium and large steam turbines from 10 to 1500 MW for driving synchronous generators. It is intended for thermal, combined-cycle and cogeneration power plants. All types are built for 3000 and 3600 rpm.

Description
Steam turbine production began in 1978, and the first was a 200 MW turbine for the Seocheon thermal power plant. Today turbines are designed and built for power plants of all types, including combined-cycle, cogeneration, thermal and nuclear. The Czech works in Plzeň draws on turbine-building experience dating from 1904. The manufacturer's overall steam turbine range is from 10 to 1500 MW. Manufacturing is carried out in Changwon (Korea) and Plzeň (Czech Republic). The line drives synchronous generators at thermal, combined-cycle and cogeneration stations.
The line has three basic types. DST-S10 is a single-casing turbine with steam parameters up to 165 bar / 580 °C, or a two-casing turbine up to 180 bar / 580 °C, for combined-cycle plants and medium-power units. DST-S20 has a combined high- and intermediate-pressure cylinder (HIP) and a separate low-pressure cylinder, with parameters up to 280 bar / 610 °C. DST-S30 is a multi-cylinder HP + IP + LP turbine for supercritical and ultra-supercritical units with parameters up to 300 bar / 630 °C.
The flow path is designed for the specific project, while the casings, valves and bearing pedestals are standardised. For this reason the line is modular: different types are assembled from identical components and only the flow path is changed for the customer. Single-, double- and multi-shaft arrangements are possible, with and without reheat. The turbines can be condensing, condensing with controlled extractions, back-pressure and back-pressure with extractions. The exhaust to the condenser is radial, side or axial. The blading is impulse and reaction three-dimensional, and the rotors are welded, including from dissimilar steels: heat-resistant in the hot zone and high-strength at the cold end. To reduce leakage, built-up diaphragms and brush, abradable, retractable and honeycomb seals are used.
For combined-cycle plants with DGT6-300H gas turbines, arrangements are provided with DST-S10 and DST-S20 (1 on 1) and with DST-S20 and DST-S30 (2 on 1). The turbines are supplied separately, in a turbine-generator set with a generator of the same maker, as a turbine island or as a turbine hall. Upgrades of own and third-party turbines are also carried out.
