Description
The company works with both design schools of transformer engineering. The shell-type design is traditionally strong for large ratings and high voltages, while the core-type design covers the remaining applications. The units are compact at high ratings and have high efficiency, and the manufacturer places the emphasis on operational safety. The fields of application include power plants, transmission and distribution networks, industrial enterprises and railways.
Generator step-up transformers are intended for large power plants, including nuclear ones. For nuclear power plants the company developed and built a three-phase transformer with the world's largest unit rating of 1510 MVA. The range for nuclear plants also includes high-power main, start-up, working and standby auxiliary transformers. In other words, the company can cover the entire transformer part of the main scheme of a power unit, from the generator to the grid and to the auxiliary buses.
Autotransformers are produced in three-phase and single-phase versions for high-power system-forming and distribution HV networks. According to customer assessments, shell-type autotransformers are among the best in the industry. Single-phase units operate, for example, at the Shin Kisaradzu substation of the grid company TEPCO Power Grid. A separate type is special three-phase shell-type transformers, of which more than 550 have been built. Their transport dimensions can be reduced to 50 % of those of a conventional three-phase unit. Such a transformer is delivered to substations with restricted access roads, where a conventional three-phase unit would not pass because of its dimensions or weight.
Gas-insulated transformers use non-flammable SF6 gas as the cooling and insulating medium. There is no oil in the tank, so such units are installed at substations in buildings and in dense urban development, where fire safety comes first. For such sites there is no need for oil catch pits and fire-protection gaps, which an oil transformer requires.
For railways the manufacturer supplies traction and feeder transformers, including transformers with the roof delta connection for AC traction substations. These transformers operate in the power industry, in industry and in transport, and demand for them grows together with the development of transmission and distribution networks in different countries.

Questions and answers
What is the largest transformer rating the company has built?
A three-phase generator step-up transformer of 1510 MVA for a nuclear power plant, the largest in the world by unit rating.
How can a large transformer be delivered to a substation with restricted access?
For this there are special three-phase shell-type transformers whose transport dimensions can be reduced to 50 % of those of a conventional three-phase unit. More than 550 such units have been built.
Where are gas-insulated transformers used?
At substations in buildings and in urban development. The cooling and insulating medium in them is non-flammable SF6 gas.
