ZHS / HCDSPZ / ZQSCB rectifier, furnace and converter transformers for industry and metro
ZHS, HCDSPZ and ZQSCB are special transformers for aluminium and hydrogen electrolysis, arc furnaces, polysilicon production and metro traction substations. Ratings run from 3.3 to 280 MVA and network voltages from 20 to 220 kV.

Description
The manufacturer produces special transformers for energy-intensive industries and electric transport. The programme includes rectifier units for aluminium and hydrogen electrolysis and for ice melting, furnace units for ferroalloy and silicon furnaces, dry-type units for polycrystalline silicon, and traction rectifier units for the metro.
The rectifier ZHSFPTB-160000/220, rated 160 MVA, is the basis of aluminium electrolysis potlines. The network voltage is 230 kV (−5…+8 %), and each unit delivers 1450 V DC and 2×47 kA. Regulation has 107 steps in the range of 1–105 %, and short-circuit voltage is 18 %. The three-phase bridge rectification scheme is supplemented by built-in saturable reactors for smooth regulation. Stray fields on the high-current side are suppressed, so there is no local overheating. Per the manufacturer, the regulating transformer has vector group YNa0d11, with HV and neutral insulation of SI750 LI950 AC395 and LI400 AC200. Such units have been supplied for aluminium production of 1.3 million t/year, including the Debao plant.
For alkaline hydrogen electrolysers of 1000–2000 Nm³/h capacity the ZHST-12500/35 (12.5 MVA, 35/0.608 kV) is intended. Phase shifting raises the power factor and reduces harmonics. The three-winding ZSF-280000/66 (280/140/140 MVA, 66/18/18 kV) supplies ice-melting installations with direct current.
The furnace units HCDSPZ-18000/110 (18 MVA, 110 kV / 175–305 V) and HCDSPZ-13500/35 convert the network voltage into low voltage and high current for arc furnaces in which ferrosilicon and technical silicon are smelted. The first is built in a single tank with a series booster transformer and shared copper LV busbars, which reduces footprint and losses. The second has autotransformer regulation and a monobloc design. The dry-type ZGSCB-12550/20 (12.55 MVA, 20 kV) supplies polysilicon reduction furnaces and, per the manufacturer, was the first such transformer in the industry to pass the sudden short-circuit test.
The dry-type traction rectifier unit ZQSCB-3300/35 (3.3 MVA, 35/1.18/1.18 kV) supplies metro traction rectifiers; the series covers 2000–4000 kVA. Two transformers with winding shifts of +7.5° and −7.5° form a 24-pulse scheme. They withstand heavy class VI duty, are resistant to moisture and pollution and operate in the metros of Changchun, Xiamen and Shenzhen.
